Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Portable was arraigned before the court on Monday on five-count charges bordering on conspiracy, assault, unlawful restriction, possession of weapons including cutlasses and guns, and conduct likely to cause harm. However, the singer pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Nine of his aides were also arraigned before Magistrate O.L. Oke on similar charges. The accused individuals include Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26).

They faced allegations of felony, assault, and unlawful restriction, alongside possession of weapons and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace with intent to kill.
According to reports, the defendants, including Portable, allegedly assaulted and obstructed town planning officers—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—while they were performing their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, an establishment owned by Portable.
Following the not guilty plea, Portable’s counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded with the court to grant him bail, emphasizing that the singer was remorseful and had learned his lesson.
Magistrate O.L. Oke granted the singer bail in the sum of N2 million, with one surety in like sum. The case has been adjourned until March 5 for trial.

Portable, known for his energetic and sometimes controversial persona in the Nigerian music industry, has made headlines multiple times for his legal troubles.
The upcoming trial will determine the next course of action regarding the allegations against him and his aides.
