Polpular Nollywood actor, Pope Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, is dead.
His shocking death was announced on Wednesday by filmmaker,Sam Olatunji, who noted that the actor died with three others after their boat capsized.
“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered. What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us.”
The shocking news of his demise is coming hours after he posted a video of himself on Instagram on a boat.
In the short video, the actor was heard begging the captain of the boat to take it easy because he was the only child of his parents and he has three children.

“Bros I beg no vex, take it easy, na only me dem born o and I get three children, na me go raise them” He said.
He speaks further: “see the risk we take people to entertain you, live and direct on River Niger, oh this water dey hit under, o boy my intestine done commot o, I no dey joke o”
Several efforts of our correspondent to reach out to President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Chief Emeka Rollas, for confirmation were not successful.
His phone line has been endlessly busy and he has not responded to a text message as at the time of filing this report on Wednesday evening.
Aside from being a movie star, the 39 years old Junior Pope was also involved in skit-making and he gets the attention of his fans with his videos.
