Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared the party’s intention to dominate the South-West, beginning with a victory in the November 16 off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, Ganduje was joined by key party figures, including Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, and Ogun State’s Secretary to the State Government, Talabi Olatokunbo.
He emphasized that the APC is positioning itself to strengthen its base ahead of the 2027 general election, with a particular focus on winning Oyo and Osun states to solidify support for President Bola Tinubu.

“In this geopolitical zone, we must deliver 100 percent in favor of APC. Ondo State must lead the way, and we will capture Oyo and Osun. We are strategizing for complete success behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ganduje said.
He voiced full support for Ondo’s incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, confirming that APC national leaders back his candidacy.
“We are firmly behind Governor Aiyedatiwa in this election. Arrangements are in place for a successful election, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed as Chairman of the National Campaign Council,” he added.

Ganduje urged APC members to engage in grassroots mobilization, calling for a strong turnout. “We expect 90 percent of the votes in the upcoming election. Visit homes, talk to neighbors, and ensure people vote.”
In a call for party unity, he encouraged those who ran against Aiyedatiwa in the primaries to set aside grievances, noting, “There are no losers, as there is no victor; there is no vanquished in this contest.”
