The Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu that his perceived stance and laxity over the ongoing Emirship tussle in Kano may jeopardize his chances for a second term in 2027.
Speaking with journalists at his Lugard House office on Sunday, Dungurawa highlighted that the ongoing crises are already tarnishing the President’s reputation.

“Your perceived stance on the ongoing Kano Emirate tussle would surely work against you in the 2027 presidential polls because if you think you can use it to secure grounds in Kano, when the chips are down, it will dawn on you that you have made costly mistakes,” Dungurawa stated.
He urged the President to use wisdom to resolve the Emirate debacle, suggesting that the deposed Emir should be banished from Kano.
Dungurawa also announced that the NNPP plans to field its leader, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, as their presidential candidate in the 2027 elections.

“We are going to field Kwankwaso as our party’s presidential flag-bearer in 2027, because for now, he stands as the only person who will make it to the Presidency, and he stands the chances of becoming the next President, God willing,” he added.
