Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George has been officially unveiled as the new head coach of Rivers United.
The unveiling ceremony took place at Rivers United’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, where George signed a two-year contract.
The 54-year-old coach steps in to lead the team following the sack of Stanley Eguma towards the end of last season.

Rivers United, who finished eighth in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season, is looking to leverage George’s expertise to achieve better results.
George brings a wealth of experience to Rivers United, having previously led Enyimba, the nine-time NPFL champions, to victory in the 2022–2023 season.
His appointment has generated optimism among fans and management alike, hoping he will replicate his success with Enyimba at Rivers United.
