Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State Governor has discredited claims making the rounds that his administration is being faced with an undue interference by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, his mentor and political Godfather.

The Governor made the clarification in response to some public outcry suggesting that the caretaker chairmen of the 44 Local Government Areas LGAs in the state were imposed on him by the former Governor.

Speaking during a Ramadan breakfast with heads of government agencies and parastatals on Thursday night, Governor Yusuf clarified that the screening of the caretaker chairmen was conducted by him and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement.

He reiterated that as a governor, he counts himself lucky to have the luxury of getting counseling and advices from a leader with enormous experience in leadership and governance like Kwankwaso.

Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf revealed that his government will distribute food items worth millions of naira in three batches to help poor households amid the present economic hardship across the country.

He also announced that the government was set to commence the distribution of the bags of rice donated by business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

He explained that the grains donated by the Federal Government will be distributed first, follow by the state government sponsored palliatives before that of Dangote’s donation.

According to him, learning by mistakes from the previous distribution of palliatives where some were diverted, the grains would be moved directly from the factories to the benefitting local government areas.
