Terrorists who abducted eight worshippers during a church service in Omugo community, Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State, are demanding ₦1 billion for their release.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the victims, members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), were taken during a service, triggering fear and outrage across the Oro-Ago area.
Speaking to newsmen, the church pastor, Reverend Omole Timothy, said the kidnappers contacted community leaders, insisting the ransom be contributed by all communities in Oro-Ago.
Efforts to negotiate a lower amount have failed, as the abductors rejected a ₦1 million offer and warned against further bargaining.

“They told us not to mention ₦20 million, ₦50 million, or even ₦100 million before switching off their phone,” he said, adding that subsequent attempts to reach them have been unsuccessful.
The cleric also revealed he briefly spoke with his wife, who is among the captives. According to him, the victims complained of thirst, while an elderly man sustained a head injury during the attack.
The incident has heightened tension in Ifelodun LGA, with residents urging authorities to act quickly to secure their release.
