The Kano State Government has issued a stern warning to supporters of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, cautioning them against making inflammatory remarks or insulting the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The warning was delivered by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, during the distribution of motorcycles to party members at the Open Space Theatre, Government House, Kano. Governor Yusuf was present at the event, according to Daily Trust.

Bature said the government would not tolerate acts of indiscipline or disrespect directed at Kwankwaso, whom he described as a key political figure whose role in Kano politics must be recognised, irrespective of current political developments.

“We will not accept indiscipline or insults against the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Anybody who engages in such behaviour will face the consequences. We will not accept it,” he said.

He urged supporters of the governor to exercise restraint and maturity, particularly amid heightened political tension following recent realignments in the state’s political landscape.

According to Bature, the state government remains committed to maintaining peace and internal cohesion among its supporters, stressing that political disagreements must not descend into personal attacks, insults or abuse.

He further reminded party members that discipline and respect for leadership within the political structure are essential for political stability and effective governance in the state.

The warning comes amid ongoing reactions and debates trailing Governor Yusuf’s recent resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), a development that has sparked mixed responses within the Kwankwasiyya movement and among Kano residents.
