Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has dismissed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, with immediate effect.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, announced the decision in a statement on Monday. He described the move as part of a minor adjustment to the State Executive Council.

“The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect.

The governor thanks her for her services to the state and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” Gidado said.

The development comes days after the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission dismissed two senior government officials for forgery.

According to the commission’s spokesperson, Saleh Umar, the offence contravened State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi), which deals with forgery and falsification of official documents.

Similarly, on September 11, the commission dismissed an education officer for gross misconduct bordering on sexual harassment.
