Kwankwasiyya Supporters Now Disappointed, Filled With Regret- Ganduje

KWANKWASO GANDUJE

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that Kwankwasiyya political movement led by New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is no longer a formidable force in Nigerian politics.

Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner held in honor of prominent party members.

Ganduje, represented by Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, confidently stated that the APC would reclaim Kano State in the 2027 elections. He also criticized Kwankwaso’s influence and the current NNPP-led administration in Kano State.

“I can swear to God, if not for our internal issues, he (Kwankwaso) wouldn’t have won any election in Kano.

This time around, he will see the reality. Those who supported him before are disappointed and full of regret.

Kwankwasiyya is done, and even the governor is unaware of everything happening around him,” Ganduje said.

The APC National Chairman urged party members to foster unity as a key strategy to regain control of the state from the NNPP, which emerged victorious in the 2023 governorship election.

He dismissed Kwankwaso’s assertions of widespread support in Kano, emphasizing the enduring strength of the APC in the region.

“I am always surprised when Rabiu Kwankwaso claims he has the people’s support. Unity is the only way out for us. It’s the only option we have to achieve our goals. God has already intervened in our situation,” Ganduje added.

Ganduje also took aim at the NNPP-led administration in Kano State, describing it as ineffective and incapable of addressing the state’s challenges. He predicted an easy victory for the APC in the next election cycle.

“The current government is distorting the state, and we are just waiting for the right time. The next election will be like moving a hen away from its eggs,” he remarked.

Speaking during the event, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, echoed Ganduje’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of unity among APC stakeholders to secure a decisive victory in 2027.

“The issue of the election is not our problem. If it were to hold today, we have no reason to fear. Let us pray and stay united. The current leadership in the state is ineffective, and no one is satisfied with their governance,” Ata said.

The Chairman of the Forum, Abdul’azeez Garba Gafasa, in his welcome address, praised party leaders for their ongoing efforts to strengthen internal unity within the APC.

The dinner, which brought together key dignitaries including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, represented by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, served as a platform to strategize for the upcoming 2027 elections.

The APC’s declaration signals an intensification of political rivalry in Kano State, as both parties prepare for what promises to be a highly contested electoral battle.
