Soldiers have neutralized two bandits who attempted to collect a N1.5 million ransom for four abducted victims at Mai-Iddo village in Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The victims, including three females and a child, were rescued by the troops following the operation on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
A local community leader confirmed the incident, explaining that the bandits were ambushed by soldiers as they arrived at the agreed location to collect the ransom.

The plan had been coordinated with a relative of the abducted victims and a vigilante, with troops taking cover at the site.
“When two bandits emerged to collect the ransom, the soldiers opened fire, killing them instantly,” the leader said. The victims, who had been kidnapped from a farm last week, were successfully rescued and reunited with their families.
This development marks another significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat banditry in Kaduna State.
