The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has announced that each chairmanship candidate vying for the forthcoming local council elections in the state will pay a N10 million non-refundable fee.
In the same vein, prospective councillors of the elections are mandated to pay five million naira only.
Prof. Sani Lawan Malunfashi, the chairman of the state electoral commission, confirmed this development on Thursday in Kano.

Malufashi made this disclosure while speaking with newsmen during the unveiling of the elections’ timetable and guidelines.
