Manchester United has appointed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, with the 39-year-old Portuguese set to join from Sporting Lisbon on November 11.
Amorim, highly regarded as one of Europe’s rising coaching talents, has signed a contract through June 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year.
Amorim replaces Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed last month, with former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy managing the team until Amorim’s arrival. Amorim will debut as head coach at United’s November 24 fixture against Ipswich Town.
