A young woman reportedly lost her life on Friday morning after falling into a well in Danbare, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the tragic incident in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Assistant Chief Fire Officer Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the fire service received an emergency call at 9:24 a.m. from a resident, Bashir Salisu, reporting the distressing incident.
An emergency rescue team from the state headquarters was immediately mobilized to the scene, arriving at approximately 9:32 a.m.

The victim, who was said to have been battling with anxiety disorder and mental health challenges, was retrieved from the well unconscious and was confirmed dead shortly afterward.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Abdullahi revealed that the deceased’s body was handed over to the ward head of Danbare, Magaji Kasim. He also noted that the cause of the incident remains under investigation.

The Kano State Fire Service has extended its condolences to the family and community of the deceased as investigations continue.
