The Kano State Government has announced Friday, July 25, 2025, as the official commencement date for the third-term holiday in all public and private schools across the state.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru. The directive applies to both primary and secondary institutions, including day and boarding schools.

Parents and guardians, especially those with children in boarding schools, have been advised to make adequate arrangements for their wards to return home on the morning of the holiday.

According to the statement, boarding students are expected to return to their respective schools on Sunday, September 7, 2025, while day students are to resume academic activities on Monday, September 8, 2025.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, called on parents to ensure their children resume school on the specified dates, warning that failure to comply may lead to disciplinary action.

Dr. Makoda also expressed appreciation to parents and the public for their continued cooperation and support in the government’s efforts to improve the education sector in the state.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Polytechnic has also announced a mid-semester break for its students, aligning with the wider academic holiday calendar in the state.
