The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman, Precious Anegbode, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, identified simply as Damilola, to death during a heated altercation in the Ijegun area of the state.
Grassroots Parrot learned that the tragic incident occurred last Friday when Anegbode visited Damilola at his residence.
What began as a verbal disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. Eyewitnesses said the argument became intense enough to draw the attention of nearby residents.
“We don’t know what led to the quarrel between both of them. We only heard them shouting, and the next thing we heard, the lady was wailing. When we got to their room, we saw the lifeless body of her boyfriend on the floor,” a neighbor who spoke under anonymity told reporters.
Another resident revealed that neighbours attempted to save Damilola by rushing him to a nearby hospital, but it was too late.

“Some of the neighbors took the corpse to the hospital while others prevented the lady from running away. When they got to the hospital, the doctors on duty confirmed him dead. Then we later went to the police station to report the incident and returned with some officers who came to take the lady away,” the resident said.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said the case was reported around 11:30 a.m. on the same day. “The victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. The nearest police station, Igando Division, was contacted, and the suspect was arrested,” Hundeyin stated.
He further explained that preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Isheri Oshun area, prompting a transfer of the case.
“Patrol and DCB teams were mobilized, and the suspect was detained at the Igando Division. The victim’s corpse was deposited at the Igando General Hospital mortuary,” he added.

Hundeyin also disclosed that a knife believed to have been used in the attack was recovered at the scene, along with blood stains which were documented as part of the evidence. He noted that Anegbode made confessional statements under caution.
“The case file and suspect exhibit will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for discreet investigation,” he concluded.
As of the time of filing this report, the motive behind the deadly confrontation remains unclear.
