A fire outbreak engulfed a two-story building on Tuesday morning at No. 6 Aba Road, by Court Road, in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.

Grassroots Parrot reports that the inferno left 12 flats completely destroyed and several families homeless.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started around 9:00 a.m. when many residents had already left for their daily activities.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but witnesses stated that it originated from an apartment where a mother had locked her 3-year-old son inside before leaving for an errand.

In a dramatic rescue, neighbors broke down the door to save the trapped child, who sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
