Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has arrived Kano on Monday to commiserate with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the people of the state over the killing of 14 northern travellers.

Grassroots Parrot reports that the attack occurred on Thursday when a mob intercepted a group of innocent travelers en route to Kano State for Sallah celebrations.

The victims, identified as hunters from Kano, were brutally attacked and murdered.

During their meeting at the Kano State Government House on Monday, Governor Yusuf demanded that the perpetrators of the crime be paraded publicly before they are charged to court.

He said the move was to “let the world could know that justice is being served.”

Governor Yusuf also appealed to Okpebholo to ensure that the victims’ families are adequately compensated for their losses.

In response, Governor Okpebholo assured that his administration will ensure justice is served, confirming that 14 arrests have already been made in connection with the killing of the innocent travelers.

As of time of filing this report on Monday evening, the Edo State Governor was on his way to Bunkure Local Government Area to commiserate directly with the victims’ families.
