Super Eagles have dropped two places in the latest ranking for the month of April released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).

Nigeria occupied the 28th spot in the last ranking probably because of the Eagles’ second position at the 2023 African Cup of Nations but the country has dropped to the 30th spot in the world.

They still however maintain their third spot in Africa behind Morocco and Senegal who are both in the World 20.

Super Eagles played two games against the Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mali in the last window for friendlies with the Nigeria side recorded a 2-1 win over Ghana before losing the second 2-0 to Mali.

The victory against Ghana counted for little as the latest ranking showed two steps down the ladder for the Super Eagles but Mali gained from the win as they moved three steps up to the 44th spot in the world and eighth in Africa.

Africa Champions Cote d’Ivoire moved a step up to occupy the 38th position in the world and fifth in Africa while Egypt are fourth in Africa but 37th in the world.

Tunisia (41) and Algeria (43) are the other Africans in the top 50 but sixth and seventh in Africa.

The next ranking will be published on 20 June
