Popular Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has received an unexpected advice from Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who urged the musician not to allow himself to be drawn into the political arena.
The senate president gave him the advice on Monday in Abuja during the singers courtesy visit.
Davido who was accompanied by two of his cousins, Tunji Adeleke, the son of his late uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, and Folasade Adeleke, the daughter of Osun State Governor.
Expressing his delight at Davido’s visit, Akpabio commended the musician for his contributions to making the country proud.

Akpabio emphasized the need for unity across party lines, highlighting the inclusive nature of the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
He stressed that despite political affiliations, the common goal is the advancement of the nation’s interests.
Akpabio urged Davido to continue being a positive ambassador for Nigeria, emphasizing the country’s unmatched population and the love it has shown him.
In his advice, Akpabio cautioned Davido against succumbing to pressure to delve into politics. He encouraged the musician to focus on his successful career in the entertainment industry, assuring him of support from the political arena.

Davido also shared plans for his upcoming album, scheduled for release in June or July of the current year.
