Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, voiced optimism on Wednesday that Kano State will return to All Progressives Congress (APC) control in the next election.
Jibrin made this statement during the Senate screening of Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.
Presenting Ata before the Senate, Jibrin, who represents Kano North, praised Ata’s political influence in the state.

“Mr. Chairman, I don’t have much to say, but I want you all to know that this man is a political juggernaut. He’s well-experienced and well-loved,” he said, adding that Ata’s confirmation would help the APC reclaim Kano.
Kano State, a northern stronghold with a population exceeding 15 million, is currently governed by the opposition New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Ata, nominated last week by President Tinubu, now awaits Senate confirmation to assume his ministerial role in Housing and Urban Development.
