The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has issued an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the death of Halifa Abdullahi, a volunteer attached to its Fagge Divisional Office, describing the incident as tragic and assuring the public that justice will be served.
In the statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the corps disclosed that the Kano State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has taken swift action by setting up a committee to conduct a “discreet and impartial investigation” into the incident.
According to the statement, the purpose of the committee is to unravel what transpired and ensure justice for the deceased and his family.
“The Commandant has constituted a committee to carry out a discreet and impartial investigation into what happened, with the aim of ensuring justice for the deceased and his family,” the statement read.
The NSCDC stressed that it would not shield any officer found culpable in the matter, declaring that no one is above the law.
“No erring staff found culpable will be spared or shielded. There is no sacred cow and we are all equal before the law,” the corps stated.

The command further confirmed that the Nigeria Police Force is actively involved in the investigation to guarantee transparency, fairness, and credibility in the process.
“Justice and fairness will be allowed to take its course,” the statement added.
Expressing deep sympathy, the NSCDC condoled with the family and relatives of the late Halifa Abdullahi, offering prayers for the repose of his soul.
“May his gentle soul rest in Jannatul Firdaus, ameen,” the corps prayed.
The NSCDC also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding, urging them to allow due process to take place while investigations are ongoing.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the rule of law as it works to uncover the truth behind the unfortunate incident.
