At least 40 people are currently trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in Abuja’s Sabon Lugbe area.

The incident occurred early Saturday, drawing immediate attention from emergency responders and concerned residents who gathered on-site to assist in rescue efforts.

The building, reportedly under construction, collapsed in the early hours, sparking urgent calls for federal intervention. Emergency teams and local sympathizers are working to rescue those still trapped beneath the debris.

“We need government support and more resources to save those still under the rubble,” one witness urged.

This collapse follows a similar incident in Abuja’s Kubwa area just weeks ago, where a two-story residential building partially fell, leaving several trapped and four rescued.
