A man has reportedly divorced his wife at a police station in Minna, Niger State, shortly after she was arrested by security operatives during a raid on a hotel.

Grassroots Parrot reports that the woman was among several individuals apprehended during police raid on hotels suspected to be hideouts for members of the notorious sara-suka gang and drug dealers.

A security operative who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity said the woman’s marital status only became known after suspects were taken into custody and their families were contacted.

“Following the recurring youth restiveness and attacks on innocent citizens, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, after going round Minna recently, directed security operatives to go after the youths causing unrest and preventing law-abiding citizens from moving freely,” the source said.
