The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the local government elections held across Benue State, winning all 276 councillorship seats across the state’s 23 local government areas.

The Chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), Terlumun Tombowua, announced the results at the BSIEC headquarters in Makurdi on Sunday morning.

He declared the APC candidates as winners in every ward, noting that the elections, which took place on Saturday, October 5, were conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.

Tombowua described the polls as free, fair, and credible, highlighting the absence of violence or incidents of ballot box snatching across the state. “The elections were successfully conducted without any security breaches.

We are pleased to report that the entire process went smoothly, and the results reflect the true will of the people,” he stated.

In a surprising show of support, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Benue State, Comrade Ibrahim Idoko, commended BSIEC for its organization and transparency throughout the election.

Idoko, who also serves as the chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), congratulated the APC on their sweeping victory.

“I would like to congratulate the APC on their success at the polls. BSIEC has conducted a transparent and credible election, and we hope this sets a positive precedent for future elections in Benue State,” Comrade Idoko remarked.
