The Kano State Police Command has announced plans to begin full enforcement of regulations governing the use of tinted vehicle glasses across the state starting Thursday, October 2, 2025.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Command said all motorists driving vehicles with factory-fitted or non-factory tinted glasses must obtain the mandatory permit to avoid inconvenience during the exercise.

According to the directive, applicants are required to complete an online registration process via the official portal [https://possap.gov.ng] before presenting themselves at the Command headquarters for physical verification.

Documents expected for submission include vehicle particulars, proof of ownership, and detailed specifications of the tinted glass.

He also issued a stern warning to officers participating in the operation against engaging in harassment, extortion, or other unlawful acts.

“Any personnel found violating the laid-down guidelines will face strict disciplinary action,” Bakori said.

The Command urged motorists to comply with the directive in order to ensure smooth enforcement and public safety. It further advised residents to report any cases of misconduct by officers directly to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) via the dedicated hotlines provided.
