The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission confirmed on Wednesday that the local government elections in the state would be held on November 30th, 2024.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the move is coming following the Supreme Court judgment, which granted the local government autonomy and mandated states to have substantive local government chairmen.
The chairman of the commission, Professor Sani Malunfashi, made the confirmation at a news conference in Kano.

He also threatened to expose any candidate whoever attempt to bribe him with any form of inducement to influence the results of the elections.
The KANSIEC boss assured that the election would be free, fair and credible.
The last local government elections in the state were held on January 16, 2021 in 44 local government areas and 484 wards.
