Prof. Yahaya Bunkure, the Vice-Chancellor, Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education, Kano, says the school will admit 2,000 students for the 2024/ 2025 academic session.
Bunkure told journalists on Tuesday in Kano, that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) allocated the slot to the university.
He said the figure was higher than 1,740 students admitted in the 2023/2024 academic year.
According to him, the university pegs admission cut-off marks at 145, adding that it would accord preference to candidates who scored higher Mark’s.
“JAMB has set aside 140 marks as minimum score for admission into any university in the country. We are the only university in the whole of the country that decided on 145 marks as minimum score for admission.
On infrastructure, Bunkure said the university has awarded a N370 million for the construction of lecture halls, staff rooms and other other structures.
While enjoying the students to shun cubism, Bunkure warned that the university would not condone indiscipline and immorality.
“We have our code of Conduct which every student must adhere to because we don’t tolerate any act of misconduct and others”. (NAN)
