The Kano State House of Assembly has passed into law a supplementary amendment budget of N215.3 billion following deliberations during its plenary session.

The approval came after a formal request from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was read on the floor of the Assembly, with Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore presiding over proceedings.

Grassroots Parrot reports that the development was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai. The statement revealed that the supplementary budget amounts to N215,378,374,543.62.

Speaker Falgore assured that the Assembly would carry out strict oversight functions to ensure proper implementation, stressing that all funds allocated to ministries, departments, and agencies must be utilized responsibly.

He further explained that the bill was passed after extensive debate and a thorough review by lawmakers, highlighting the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public spending.

The passage of the supplementary budget is expected to boost the implementation of ongoing projects and support new initiatives of the Yusuf-led administration across the state.
