The amendments were approved during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker of the House, following a detailed review in the committee of the whole house and a third reading conducted by the Clerk, Bashir Diso.

Speaking on the significance of these amendments, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Lawan Husseini, emphasized the necessity of establishing the deputy managing director positions.

He explained that these deputies would act as substitutes for managing directors in their absence, preventing any disruptions in the operations of these agencies.

“The deputy managing director can stand in for a managing director anytime he is not on the seat instead of allowing the agencies’ activities to be at a standstill without progress,” Hon. Husseini stated.
