Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State have purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ahead of the next governorship election.

The forms were presented to the governor by former National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday. The gesture signals the party’s endorsement of Yusuf as its preferred candidate for a second term.

Speaking at the event, Ganduje said party leaders had reached a consensus to back the governor, adding that the forms—covering both expression of interest and nomination—should be completed in line with party guidelines.

The stakeholders also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate. However, they ruled out automatic tickets for other aspirants, noting that all remaining positions would be decided through internal party processes, particularly consensus.

The motion endorsing Tinubu was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and received unanimous support at the meeting.

Earlier, the state party chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, said the party had initially planned to purchase nomination forms for the president as a show of support but noted that others had already done so.
