Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly resigned from his position effective immediately.

Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, is said to have stepped down due to health-related concerns. stating that he needs to focus on his well-being.

The development was disclosed on Friday in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ahmad wrote, “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”

As of the time of filing this report, the APC leadership is yet to issue an official statement confirming or denying the resignation.

Ganduje became APC National Chairman in August 2023, following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu. His tenure has been marked by internal party realignments and efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of future elections.

Sources revealed that Ganduje’s personal belongings were earlier moved from his office at the APC national secretariat, further confirming the report.

The development has thrown the party’s headquarters into confusion, with staff and visitors visibly shocked by the unexpected news.
