The twenty-five (25) schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, have been rescued.

Security sources confirmed the development to journalists on Tuesday, describing the rescue as a “swift and coordinated operation” carried out by a joint team of operatives.

Although details of the rescue operation remain sketchy as of press time, sources say the girls are currently in safe custody and undergoing preliminary medical checks.

More information is expected to emerge as security agencies and Kebbi State authorities prepare to brief the public.
