A middle-aged woman, identified as Ramatu, lost her life on Wednesday evening after being crushed by a trailer while returning from her farm in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The tragic incident occurred at about 5:12 p.m. near the Con Oil filling station along the Lokoja–Abuja highway.
An eyewitness told newsmen that the accident happened when the trailer driver, coming from the Lokoja axis, attempted to avoid a pothole but lost control of the vehicle. In the process, the trailer ran over the motorcycle on which Ramatu was riding, killing her on the spot and leaving the rider seriously injured.
According to the witness, Ramatu was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors later confirmed her dead, while the injured motorcyclist is currently receiving treatment.
