Six family members, a mother, Alhaqatu Abdulkarim and her five children have died after eating local delicacy in Karkari village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The deceased children were identified as, Usman Abdulkarim, nine years; Fiddausi Abdulkarim, 11 years; Hafsa Abdulkarim, seven years; Jamilu Abdulkarim, four years; and Bashari Abdulkarim, 19 years.
It was gathered that the victims were taken to Gwarzo General Hospital for abdominal complication treatment where they died at intervals while receiving treatments.

The Ward Head of Karkari village, Yakubu Danazumi, who confirmed the incident to Vanguard, on Sunday, in a phone interview, said their father and husband earlier died seven months ago.
Danazumi said: “The incident leading to the death of the six family members happened on Tuesday. Two of them died on the same day, two others died the following day and the mother died on Thursday while the last passed away on Friday.
“We have buried the victims according to Islamic rites and we will observe the seven days prayer for all of them coming Tuesday.
“The father passed away about seven months ago leaving behind the woman and her five children while the second wife had six children.
“So, the woman and her five children died after eating the local delicacy,” the ward head, Danazumi stated.
