The younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin children, has reportedly been kidnapped in Ibadan.
Grassroots Parrot reports that the abduction occurred on Wednesday in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
According to reports, the victims were attacked by unidentified gunmen while leaving their residence in the Elewura area and heading towards the expressway.
A video circulating on social media from the scene showed a red sedan with visible damage and shattered driver’s-side window glass, while residents gathered around the vehicle in apparent shock.
Confirming the incident, one of Adelabu’s media aides, Femi Awogboro, said the former minister’s younger sister and her twins, identified as Peter and Paul, were abducted by the assailants.

“Adelabu’s younger sister, together with her twins (Peter and Paul), were kidnapped this morning by unknown gunmen at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan,” Awogboro stated.
The family was reportedly ambushed as they attempted to access the expressway before being forcibly taken away by the kidnappers.
Reacting to the development, the Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the police were still verifying the report and could not immediately provide an official confirmation.
The incident has heightened concerns over insecurity in Oyo State and comes just weeks after the reported abduction of more than 40 teachers and students in Oriire Local Government Area. It also follows the kidnapping of APC chieftain Wale Oriade in Ibadan in December 2025.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the victims remain unknown, while security agencies are expected to intensify efforts to secure their release and apprehend those responsible.
