Bayero University, Kano has expelled 29 students for examination malpractice.
The university also rusticated three students and warned 15 others, as indicated in the university’s official news bulletin dated July 5, 2024.
According to the bulletin made available to Grassroots Parrot on Tuesday, the decision was taken during the 413th meeting of the university’s Senate held on July 3, 2024.
The expulsion was confirmed in a statement signed by the acting director of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions, and Records, Aminu Wada Kurawa.

Kurawa explained that the decision was in accordance with General Examinations and Academic Regulations and General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies.
“Bayero University Kano Senate, at its 413 meeting held on July 3, 2024, expelled 29 students, rusticated three, and warned 15 others for being found involved in examination misconduct.”
The expelled students are Bashir Ahmad Auwal, Maria Micheal Ene, Chioma Rejoice Micheal, Jacob Oheji Obidikwu, Abubakar Sadiq Abubakar, Joshua Madugu Ugbede, Faruk Ibrahim Aliyu, Enabhurekhan Favour Thomas, and Mukhtar Adebayo.
Others are Auwalu Abubakar, Abdulzeez Abiodun Abdulwasiyu, Comfort Joseph Abitu, Oche Emmanuel Abdulkarim, Muhammad Aliyu Abubakar, Susan Emmanuel, Rukayya Idris Muhammad, Kabiru Muhammad Jaen, Ibrahim Khalil Hamisu, and Grace Ogar.

Also expelled are Sailuba Isah, Hajara Nasiru Rabiu, Hauwa Jibrin Muhammad, Asma’u Muhammad Jabbi, Abubakar Jamilu Danjuma, Laila Abdulrahman Adam, Asiya Musa Dauda, Maryam Maarufi Sabiu, Ene Ameh, and Usman Lawan.
Those students who rusticated are Saleh Aliyu Idris (two semesters), Khalil Ado Ibrahim (one semester), and Yusuf Badamasi (one semester).
These are exonerated because a case of examination misconduct could not be established against them: Rahamah Onono Bello, Amari Apphia Abu, and Orkuma Winifred Doobee.
