A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Noman’s Land, Kano, has ordered the remand of several suspects to a reform facility over charges of conspiracy and murder following the brutal killing of a teacher in Shanono Local Government Area.

The suspects were arraigned before Magistrate Hauwa Abdulkadir on allegations of abducting and murdering the teacher, whose eyes were gouged out and body mutilated in a horrifying attack that has shocked the local community.

According to the police charge sheet, the incident occurred on April 22 this year in Center Abuja village, Shanono LGA.

The prosecution alleged that the suspects conspired to abduct the victim and later carried out his gruesome execution, including removing his eyes and other vital parts.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly raised ₦800,000 to hire a group of youths to carry out the heinous act.

During Tuesday’s hearing, the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Salma Garba, requested an adjournment to allow for further legal submissions and preparation by the defense.

Magistrate Abdulkadir subsequently adjourned the case to November 13 for continuation of trial and ordered that all accused persons be remanded at a reform facility pending further court proceedings.
