A Shari’a Court in Fagge, Kano State, has sentenced a young man, Murtala Sa’idu Tudun Murtala, to two years in prison for attempting to drug a patient in a hospital.
The incident occurred during his visit to a health facility in Fagge Local Government Area, where Murtala was apprehended with hard substances as he tried to administer them to a hospitalized patient.
Murtala was arraigned by the police on charges of troublemaking and attempted crime. During the court session, the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Zaharaddeen Mustapha, read the charges, and the accused pleaded guilty.

The dual sentencing reflects the court’s intent to deter similar behavior in the future, as well as its concern over the safety and well-being of patients in health facilities.
