Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will regain control of Kano State in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Thursday, Akpabio emphasized the party’s strong foundation in the state and its potential to reclaim power in the next election cycle.

Akpabio attributed his optimism to the leadership of key figures within the party, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and Senator Basheer Lado.

He noted that their strategic efforts and commitment to the party’s ideals would be instrumental in securing victory for APC in Kano.

He also commended Senator Lado’s performance as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate matters, dismissing concerns about potential information leaks between the executive and legislative branches.

Akpabio described Lado’s efforts in enhancing communication between the presidency and the Senate as “unprecedented” during his eight-month tenure.

In response, Senator Lado expressed gratitude to Akpabio for his leadership and unwavering support. He acknowledged the Senate President’s role in advancing President Tinubu’s policies and praised him as a “dependable ally” dedicated to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
