The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has elected Yusuf Ado Kibiya as its new chairman following a successful election process that began on Saturday evening and concluded on Sunday.
The election results were announced by the chairman of the election committee, Halilu Abubakar Mazagani, who represented the party’s national headquarters.
Kibiya secured a landslide victory, receiving 3,964 votes, significantly outpacing his rival, Nura Nuhu, who garnered 244 votes. Following the announcement, Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad administered the oath of office to Kibiya and 38 other newly elected party officials during a formal ceremony.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kibiya expressed gratitude to party members for their confidence in his leadership, pledging to guide the PDP in Kano State with transparency and inclusivity.
He also emphasized the importance of unity within the party as it looks to strengthen its position in the state and prepare for future political activities.
The newly elected leaders are expected to steer the PDP’s efforts in Kano, a critical state in Nigeria’s political landscape, as they work toward revitalizing the party and positioning it for success in upcoming elections.
