The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has cautioned students and the general public against a fake loan application portal currently circulating online.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, described the circulating messages as misleading and fraudulent.

“The attention of NELFUND has been drawn to a false message claiming that President Bola Tinubu has directed the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal,” Oluwatuyi stated. “The message contains a link to a fraudulent website: https://nelfund-student-loan-2025.po-rt-al.com/NELFUND/.”

She emphasized that the site is fake and warned the public to disregard the information entirely.

“The only official and secure portal for student loan applications remains: https://nelf.gov.ng,” she clarified.

Oluwatuyi urged students, parents, and guardians not to click on unverified links or share sensitive personal or financial details on suspicious platforms. She reaffirmed NELFUND’s commitment to transparency, security, and fairness in its operations, noting that all official updates will be communicated only through verified channels.
