Multiple fatalities have been recorded following a tanker explosion on Monday morning at Dan Magaji, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near Rochas Foundation School along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass, from Kwangila to Dan Magaji.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-filled Volkswagen Golf cars. The collision sparked five loud explosions, igniting a massive fire and sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky.

“All the occupants of the cars died on the spot, except one driver who survived but sustained severe burns,” a witness told security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the incident on his X handle.
Emergency responders and security operatives have since cordoned off the area and advised motorists to avoid the route as rescue and recovery operations continue.
