The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrested of a 25-year-old man, Ididiong James, for attacking his mother in the Panshekara Quarters area of the state.
According to a police statement, the suspect who possesses an English Beretta pistol with eight rounds of ammunition fled the scene of the attack when officers arrived.
The issue escalated when his mother found the firearm and ammunition hidden inside his bag. She reportedly refused to return the weapon to him, a decision that allegedly triggered the violent attack.
The woman also raised alarm over her son’s sudden change in behaviour, noting that he had not been the same since returning from a New Year celebration. Troubled by her discovery and concerned about the potential danger, she promptly handed the weapon over to the police.
