Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has ordered an investigation into the alleged involvement of the state’s Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi, in securing the controversial bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu, popularly known as Danwawu.

Reports linking the commissioner to documents allegedly used to facilitate Danwawu’s release sparked widespread public outcry, prompting the move.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed that a special committee has been constituted to probe the matter.
